Alex | Class of 2013 | Raleigh Senior Photography

Yesterday I had the privilege to meet Alex.  He is a rising star in Raleigh, I promise you that!

He will attend North Carolina State this fall, and we decided to have his session on campus.

I have some pretty amazing landscape images, but for the preview I want to share this image.

This is one of our first shots of the day.  I think it captures how truly personable he is!

Have a great Monday!

{ Caroline } Class of 2013 | Raleigh Cary Senior Photographer

Last weekend Caroline and I met for her senior session.  When we first discussed her vision for her session, she mentioned that she composes music and would love to be photographed with a grand piano.   I’m always up for a challenge and began searching my resources to see if we could make this happen.   Luckily, I finally found one! Meredith College was kind of enough to let us use a gorgeous Steinway D in the Carswell Music Hall.

Let me tell you, the first time I walked into this music hall I got goose bumps!  I was thrilled to have found such a great venue with such an amazing instrument.

We began her session at the piano.  I asked if she had brought any of her compositions.  Caroline told me most of her pieces are played through memory.  Awesome!

She played  while I adjusted my lighting, and we got this gorgeous shot …

(  I was on cloud nine working to this ethereal music – one very talented young lady)

.

We kept the mood quiet and statuesque.

I am blown away by her presence & beauty.  Top of the favorite list.

.

Then it was time to head outside for some fun in the late day sun!

.

A gorgeous and simply contagious smile!

.

We changed locations for a little edginess.   She painted with her shadows.  LOVE!

Talented, witty, smart & kind.  Caroline, you are an amazing girl & I truly enjoyed our time together!

Laila | Class of 2013 | Raleigh Cary High School Senior Photographer

.

Beauty, brains & a sparkling personality … best describes this class of 2013 high school senior!

.

I know I’ve said this a million times before, but I absolutely enjoy photographing seniors!  They have fresh ideas & like to ‘go with the flow’, which in my opinion is a ton of fun.

Not to mention I am just in awe at how GORGEOUS they can be…

.

Laila was a natural – so comfortable with me & the camera (even though she said she was very nervous!)

Most of the time I was getting ready to help her into a pose, and then she’d read my mind and do it on her own, and add her own elegance to the image…

.

.

Not only is she a straight A student, but an accomplished musician as well!

.

We had a lot of fun coming up with different ways to ‘interact’ with her violin…

.

I could photograph her for days … so darn pretty!

.

.

Being a late afternoon HOT summer day, some weather was brewing very close to us.  I later discovered that we missed the downpour by about 1/2 mile – nice!

I love to incorporate the elements into my imagery, and L O V E the way she posed for this image …

.

We had a lot of fun cruising this park, looking interesting spots to take her pic. I knew we had to have at least one hair-action shot!

.

Sweet & lovely.

.

Thank you Laila for braving the heat & weather – you were a blast to photograph & I can tell you have a very bright future ahead of you!

2011: A (Spectacular!) Year in Review | Raleigh Cary Apex Photographer

Wow.  I am somewhat speechless at this moment.  I just spent the last few hours viewing my image galleries from 2011, and reflecting upon every session that I was lucky enough to be a part of.  My heart is so full of thankfulness, and my eyes are full of disbelief that I met and photographed so many fun & fabulous people!  Seriously, someone pinch me already!

These images are only a very small representation of what I adore & what I am proud of this year.

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to capture your precious smiles & memories.

Looking forward to seeing many of you again in 2012!
