Last Day of November | Raleigh Cary Family Photographer

This afternoon I head out for my last photo shoot before Christmas.

ISO6400  f/3.2  1/320th

The fabulous mom of this crew was the one who referred me to the bride I photographed in October.  I wanted to thank them with a family portrait.

I grabbed them during the reception and did the best I could, considering it was pretty much dark outside already!

I do love this photo, and so do they, but they’ve decided they want something a little more traditional.

So today I meet this gorgeous & kind family at a local park to capture them in a little more light and some to get some beautiful close ups of their girls.

.

Have a great weekend!

{ Ashley } Raleigh Cary Beauty Portrait Photography

 Meet Ashley.

Ashley who called me to book a shoot simply to celebrate who she is today.  Something we should all have the the desire to do.  Who else will do it for us but ourselves?!

We planned Ashley’s session over the phone, and I enjoyed our conversations.  When I met her in person, I felt like I had run into an old friend that I hadn’t seen in years.  Just that great!

She was also my  ‘gorgeous guinea’ client for my new studio set up, and a gracious one at that.

AND today is Ashley’s birthday … HAPPY BIRTHDAY to YOU !!

Fabulous, flirty & ferocious forty four!!

.

Would you believe me if I told you this was the first image I took?  Sparkling!

I can hear the Ella Fitzgerald Pandora station playing right now …

Infectious smile & laughter!

Strength & beauty defined.

I enjoyed every single moment of my session with you Ashley – thank you for a fabulous morning.

Happy happy birthday!!

A Few Thanksgiving Pics

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that you had a weekend filled with love, laughter and of course delicious & bountiful food.

I drove to Kentucky to be with my always fun and great to be around family.  Being one of six siblings has it’s advantages, the greatest being able to watch my family grown and blossom.  A true treat.

Here are a few of my favorite snaps from the weekend…

And of course, the big family photo that no one wanted me to take!  I guess I am ‘that Aunt’ or ‘that Sister’.

So, I surprised them with my camera and tripod set up behind the dining table and declared a family photo would be taken.  Sadly, I forgot put on my flash but a quick roll of the ISO and I was able to seize the 30 seconds they gave me for the picture lol!

.

I have a few more sessions left to blog and hope to get to that soon.

Have a wonderful week!

The Johnson Family | Raleigh Cary Family Photographer

I was so delighted when this wonderful mom of twin boys contacted me to shoot their holiday card photos this year.

You may remember these twin boys from their newborn photos (here).  I had the privilege of assisting the amazing Melissa of Melissa Devoe Photography with their newborn shoot.

Fast forward eleven months, and these boys have big smiles,  teeth popping through and are crawling all over the place!!

Pure cuteness!!!

.

The boys responded well to my ‘peek-a-boos’ for the first few clicks …

.

Then we tried sitting and my ‘peek-a-boos’ didn’t work at all … these little guys wanted to move!

I still chuckle when I see this image – a funny moment …

Time to play!

Mom, you’re beautiful, and your love for your children shines like a star …

And off they go …

One of the extreme pleasures of my job is watching families and children grow.  Life is amazing and wonderful :)

Thank you for sharing your babies with me!  I hope I see you next year, and will be sure to be wearing running shoes if so!

Madeline & Ethan | Raleigh Cary Portrait Photography

Meet Madeline and Ethan.  Their Mom & I have been trying for quite some time to schedule this session.  We’ve been having a mild fall here in NC, but wouldn’t you know it was quite chilly the morning of their session?  I’m glad we kept our date, and it makes me smile to think back on our session.  The kids were just so great!

Ethan is a child with special needs.  Photographing a child with cerebral palsy was a little bit challenging, but with the help of big sister everything went very smoothly and we had a lot of chuckles!  Madeline is the most amazing and patient big sister I have ever met.  Both were truly a joy to photograph, but I just can’t get over the unending laughter grins of Ethan.

Just precious!

How can you NOT smile looking at this?

This is pure joy!

Madeline is in middle school, so we had a little fun creating some glam for her:)

So pretty!

Thanks again Jennifer for sharing your children with me !
