Leap Day 2012 |

Had BIG plans for a neat photo idea today, but got rained out.

Pretty happy, though,  with my last minute pre-bedtime snap … what do you do with kids that beg to jump on the bed this special day , ” Mom, we’ll make it a tradition every four years.”  Smile.

NCMA – I’m In for the Second Year! | Raleigh Cary Apex Durham Lifestyle Photography

.

I am super excited to announce that one of my prints has been chosen again this year to be a part of the Art of the Auction at the North Carolina Museum of Art!

Last year was the first year I was a part of this, and let me tell you, it is quite a thrill to see one of your pieces hanging in an art museum.

I sent in three submissions, and this is the one they chose:

“He Loves Me”

16×16 Fine Art Framed Print

More details to come if you are interested in joining me at the North Carolina Museum of Art!

Big Hair Salon Prints | Raleigh Cary Apex Portrait Photographer

.

Just for fun, thought I’d share this picture of some prints all wrapped up and ready to be delivered!

Taking this set of *twenty *16×20 standout mounts up to the salon this evening ( and might be bringing a bottle of bubbly with me to add to the fun!).

.

Eight of these prints will be hung for the large front wall display, and the other twelve will hang behind each work station.

Of course I will be sharing images of the display once it is complete!  For now here is one of the sample mock-ups I created to help the client visualize the end result for her nine foot wide wall :

A Slice of Life | My Own | Raleigh Portrait Family Photographer

.

I normally don’t share too many images of my own here, as I want to spotlight my clients.  I have decided to change that just a bit (perhaps once or twice a month), as I think it is not only a good way for you to get to know me, but a great way to see what images really make my heart sing!  As my business grows, my own family is subject to my camera less and less.  I don’t want to stop taking their pictures.  I want to have the memories and moments ‘on film’ to treasure, as I know they surely will some day too!

We packed a kayak and a picnic, and headed to a local lake to enjoy a refreshing 65 degree day!  My children surely are at their best when we are outdoors and away from all of the distractions of every day life.  Everyone is happy, which makes me happy.

Whether it’s the expression, the lighting, the composition or just the moment, these are all photos that make me smile.

My youngest.  Still loves to have her photo taken (yay for me!).  So we went on a stroll, just the two of us …

.

She found this log and wanted to use it as her scene :)

.

I love her because she made me give her the camera, so she could take a photo of me.  I may have bedhead and bags under my eyes, but I LOVE this shot of me

Thanks for reading – hope you liked this post.
