Nikolich Family Session Preview | Raleigh Greensboro Family Portrait Photographer

Last weekend I traveled to Greensboro to see an dear old friend of mine, that has recently moved to NC.  We go waaayyyyyyy back, and although we really didn’t keep in touch very often through the years, I am so glad that she & her family are back in my life!

We had a fun & very active session – the boys were just the sweetest!

I just had to pop in and share these with you …here are two of the cutest faces you’ve seen lately!

Lots more to come from this adorable family soon!

Amy + Brad | Raleigh Engagement Photographer

.

We met on a Sunday afternoon, early in the afternoon.  Although these two met in Raleigh, they do reside here and they needed to hit the road later that afternoon to head back home.

We met at a very popular brew pub, to meet and greet and get to know each other a bit before I started shooting.  I could tell immediately that these two were made for each other.  So comfortable & confident, and absolutely radiant with love! I felt at ease immediately, and as if I had known them for a while already.

We began our photo shoot at this brew pub, as it has a fabulous backdrop view of downtown Raleigh.  The light was a little brighter than I would have liked, but they were real troopers and managed not to squint too much!  We then all jumped in my car and proceeded on our adventure, finding some new spots that I will definitely use in future photos!

Amy, your are positively sparkling, sweet & glowing!

Oh, to be so young and so in love!

.

RAWR!

.

Brad, you’re a true gentleman.

We wrapped up our shoot in this beautiful field.  It was even more in bloom than the week before, and I think they were as excited as I was when we drove up.

I just love these images!

Simple Inspiration | Raleigh Cary Portrait Photography

.

The other day I received the TIME Magazine Style & Design issue in the mail.  Per normal, I spent about two minutes flipping through, really liking what I saw.  This image inspired me to start a ‘Portrait’ Board on Pinterest.   Loved the lighting and mood of the image.

( If you aren’t on Pinterest yet, you should be!  Email me if you want an invitation, or click HERE to follow me.)

We were all sitting around the table enjoying our family dinner.  I do my best to make family dinner happen every night of the week, but it’s not easy!

I sit directly across from my teenage daughter.  The lights were out in the room behind her, and in my mind I was analyzing how the overhead lighting was falling on her face.  How it was shaping her based upon which way she turned her head. Not intentionally, but most likely because I had recently been inspired by that magazine. I love it when my mind goes this direction!

I non-chalantley left the table to get my camera. I didn’t want to do anything fancy, I just wanted to capture her in this particular light.

Here’s the first one I snapped:

Then I asked her to gently put her hand on her face.

This one is my favorite, and is definitely going up on our portrait wall.

Can you tell which direction the light is coming from? Not only from her skin, but look at her eye catch-lights too.

(  lucky for me I got her before this mood took over!)

I hope this post inspires you in some way or another!  Would love to hear if so.

Bloom Skin Spa Head Shots | Cary Raleigh Commercial Head Shot Photography

.

A few months ago a friend pleaded with me to book a facial with Amber at the Bloom Skin Spa.  She said you’d never have anything so good in your life, and she was right!  My facial was downright amazing.   Turns out this facial led to a friendship and a wonderful job opportunity for me!

I was hired to take images of this booming salon for web updates, as well as head shots of all of the employees.  Don’t yawn just yet!  I believe that every opportunity I have with a client is a unique and special one.  Head shots with me are FAR from boring, as I see it as my goal to capture your personality, even if my lens is only focused on you for a few minutes.

We had a ball at this head shot ‘party’ – an amazing and oh so beautiful group of women!

Enjoy the images …
