The Best of 2012 Contest | Raleigh Portrait Photography

Here we go!

I received so much positive feedback from this contest last year, I’ve decided to make it an annual event.

It is also a great joy to me to see all of the beautiful faces again that I photographed this year.  Definitely humbling & absolutely inspiring!

It was such a tough job to narrow down the images, my first run through I ended up with well over 100!

However, I bit my nails and sipped my coffee and managed to narrow it down.

Head on over to my Facebook fan page  to vote for your favorite … HERE is a link to the image album.  Simply be a fan of Kathy Howard Photography, and comment “VOTE” under your favorite image(s).

Voting ends Monday night, winner announced Tuesday morning.

(I am having technical difficulties at the moment, but will post a slideshow of the images here on my site once resolved)

Have a great weekend!

2011 *Best in Show* Winners! | Raleigh Cary Apex Triangle Portrait Family Photographer

What a great week it was on my Facebook fan page.  The 2011 *Best in Show* contest was spectacular – it was anyone’s game up until the very finish, a true nail biter!

Without further ado, the first place winner of a 16×20 Gallery Wrapped Canvas goes to the newborn twin image:

2nd place winner of a 12×18 mounted print goes to:

This image is perfect because they were literally running on the heels of the 1st place image!

And the third place 12×18 mounted print goes to :

A little tidbit about this shot : I knew I wanted a facial veil shot from above, so after one of the group shots I asked this bride to pull the veil over her face and squat a bit (she was an AWESOME bride)!  I snapped three or four and off we went to the next image!  It was breezy and I was so happy to have caught the veil in motion.

Thank you to those who participated in the contest, couldn’t have done it without you!

UP next – behind the scenes of a bridal portrait shoot AND next weekend I will be shooting beauty shots at a local hair salon – super excited about it.  We will be designing large wall displays for her salon.  I will be sure to share my lighting set-up(s) and all the prep that is going into this big shoot, as well as tid-bits on the wall design once we get to that point.

Have a great weekend!
