I Heart Faces Photo Challenge | Jump!

Although I love to spectate these fun contests run at I Heart Faces ,

it’s been a while since I’ve entered one.  Call it lack of time, or laziness … !

When I read this theme I knew exactly which image I would enter, which is the other half of the battle.

I had just received these prop skirts in the mail, and my daughter was wearing them around the house begging to be photographed.  So we headed outside in the rain and I captured my aspiring ballerina jumping a puddle.

Check out more fun jumping shots at I Heart Faces today!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge | Wind

It’s time for another photo challenge, and this one is ‘wind’.

I love wind.  I love when it surprises me during a shoot.

For this particular session though, we were working ‘with’ a very strong ocean wind.  Got a lot of pics with hair in the eyes!

But also captured this moment that I adore…

Head on over to I Heart Faces for more wind celebration!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge | Framed | Raleigh Portrait Photography

This month the challenge is about framing your subject(s) in a photograph.

It is one hour before the Cotillion ball, close to sunset.  It is gray, cold & misting rain, and I am wanting to capture a strong image of my son & his best friend in their pretty cool tuxedos, not sure if I could make it happen.

I knew I wanted them walking.  I’ve always loved a gravel driveway, so I started with some walking and laughing.  And then I saw it -the gates to frame them, as well as the tall bare trees.

“Give me some James Bond” …

I knew I had to participate this week with the theme of ‘Love’.

Love comes in so many shapes and sizes.

Here we have the love of my teenage daughter and her cousin.  The connection between these two definitely makes my heart sing!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge | Best Face of 2012

The impossible task, to pick a favorite face!  Oh my.

Instead of searching through my image files and agonizing over a choice, I decided to utilize my new dedicated word for 2013 … SIMPLIFY.

I chose the first image that came to mind, which is this one of my children that I took for our Christmas card this year.

(YES there are plenty of outtakes, which I also used on my card!)

But I out-waited & out-witted them and got this gorgeous portrait that I will always always treasure!!!

.

Head on over to I Heart Faces to see many more beautiful faces!
