Twelve Days of Christmas | Day Six

I’ve been trying to NOT take portraits (to step out of my comfort zone) for this short project, but I caved on Saturday :)

My family was all cleaned up and pretty, and on our way to see A Christmas Carol at the DPAC.

It’s fun to use the Christmas lights as back drops too.

Oh those big brown eyes that I love so much :

You knew she had to get in on the photo action too … !

Twelve Days of Christmas | Day Four

I’m pretty proud of myself for blogging this many days in a row so far – ha ha!

My folks just built a home in Asheville & I am thrilled that they are now less than half of the distance they used to be from me.

I visited for one day this week.

They are approaching their 50th wedding anniversary in a few years.  The thought completely boggles me in so many ways!

True love does exist.  And love is what the holidays are all about.

I hope you are enjoying my mini-series.  I am & know I will enjoy looking back on theses images someday even more.

Twelve Days of Christmas | Day One

In an effort to create family memories and shun the stress & busy-ness of this holiday season, I have started this short but sweet photo project!

A photo a day for the next twelve days, focusing on the holiday spirit.

Picked out our tree yesterday at the NC Farmer’s Market.  It was a gorgeous 70 degree day!  Although I have to admit I might have preferred a bit chillier weather for this day.

I was hoping for a fun action shot of the kids, but they were scolded for running around (not by me!) so I stuck them together for the cheesiest of cheese :)

Post processed with a new love, Red Leaf Film Actions.

Have a great day!

A Few Thanksgiving Pics

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that you had a weekend filled with love, laughter and of course delicious & bountiful food.

I drove to Kentucky to be with my always fun and great to be around family.  Being one of six siblings has it’s advantages, the greatest being able to watch my family grown and blossom.  A true treat.

Here are a few of my favorite snaps from the weekend…

And of course, the big family photo that no one wanted me to take!  I guess I am ‘that Aunt’ or ‘that Sister’.

So, I surprised them with my camera and tripod set up behind the dining table and declared a family photo would be taken.  Sadly, I forgot put on my flash but a quick roll of the ISO and I was able to seize the 30 seconds they gave me for the picture lol!

.

I have a few more sessions left to blog and hope to get to that soon.

Have a wonderful week!
