Hey there! Sorry so long since I’ve been here. I’m calling May the new December!

However, all good and exciting stuff.

A few weekends ago I attended a photography workshop in Charlotte taught by a true master of light, Craig Lamere. If you haven’t seen his work you should really take a moment & check him out!

I am a 90% natural light photographer, I decided to attend this class to learn & improve my lighting skills. I learned SO much more than that – posing, editing, and a good dose of motivation

The workshop was hosted by the fabulous Dez Ebanks. Awesome studio G, set up with THREE shooting bays with three different models & light patterns.

DISNEYLAND for photographers!

We photographed all day and literally almost all night. Awesomeness.

Here are a few images that I shot & edited.

So much fun to have a styling team on board, lovin’ the fashion aspect, something I plan to add to my business SOON!

This particular model is a past high school senior client of mine, and a pretty special friend.

She IS “The Leap” photo that you see when you first land on my web page.

One of my very first photo shoots four years ago.

{Maddie} Class of 2014 |Chapel Hill High School Senior Photographer

Meet Maddie, true beauty with a sparkle in her eyes that never stops!

Mom contacted me this Spring to see if we could squeeze in a senior session before graduation.

Luckily we found a date that fit all of our schedules.

We met at their home for hair & make-up with my favorite Elaine of www.elaineharrisonmakeupartistry.com. (She’s the BOMB!)

We began photographing around Maddie’s home, jumped in their SUV & ventured out to downtown Chapel Hill after that.

This session was a total BLAST!

Maddie is the goalie for her school team. Of course we had to shoot a few soccer pics!

AND exciting news – The Chapel Hill High School girls’ soccer team appears in its FIRST state title game in program history Saturday!

Chapel Hill has a large collection of painted murals, most within walking distance.

Lots of great urban backdrops – could have photographed Maddie there ALL day!

Maddie will be attending veterinary school this fall, so when I found this mural online I KNEW this was a must!

This mural is East facing and was a little worried about the direct sun. However, this session was SO perfect that it clouded up for us AND I could capture those sparkling baby blues for our last locale!

A Relationship to Celebrate | Raleigh Portrait Photographer

I was contacted to capture beautiful portraits to celebrate this lovely couple’s upcoming ten year anniversary.

Initial thoughts were to dress in the original wedding attire, shoot portraits & capture a few fun moments.

During our pre-session consult, we talked about what they like to do together & developed this session to tell a story.

This is a beautifully romantic story.

We should all be so lucky to experience this much love!

Swing dancing classes is something that both of them enjoy, and I was excited for the opportunity to capture this for them.

Come to find out even though new frocks were purchased, the choice was to wear dress she wore to her rehearsal dinner – perfect for this fun dancing series!

OH I can’t forget to mention that they were so prepared for this session, we even had music playing
